HORSE’s contribution to Standards and Standardisation bodies
Why is Standardisation so important? Communication is based on standards. Any form of communication, whether human language or computers are based on standards. It is an agreement that certain sounds mean something. In the same way, standards are extremely important for security because security deals with collaboration and when we collaborate, we define how we identify or declare a particular attack, how we define a way to dealing with a particular attack, how we evaluate the results of the attack, as well as what we are doing to mitigate the attack. These are totally in alignment with the goals we have in the HORSE project.
In this video of Diego Lopez, about the role Telefonica, as one of the HORSE project partners, is doing in making contributions towards the various relevant standardisation bodies and working groups with respect to HORSE technologies and concepts.
HORSE’s collaboration with IETF is in the topic of network management, establishing trust on different networks and network paths and how the network would behave in case of an attack.
At ETSI, we are leading the ZSM committee, cooperating on how to maintain multi dimension domains, also activity regarding network digital twin.
